Samuel’s Canstruction Event Supports Local Food Banks

In a powerful display of creativity and generosity, Samuel Engineering, Inc. (Samuel) has embarked on a mission to make a positive impact in their community through the art of Canstruction. This unique initiative not only showcases the engineering prowess of the company but also serves as a beacon of hope for those facing food insecurity. By combining innovation, teamwork, and a commitment to social responsibility, Samuel is building more than just a structure – they’re constructing a tower of hope for those in need.

Canstruction is an international charity competition where design and construction firms create impressive structures entirely from canned food. These structures are later dismantled, and the cans are donated to local food banks, providing much-needed resources to combat hunger. Samuel Engineering Inc. has embraced this creative challenge, transforming their office space into a construction site where canned goods are the building blocks of a unique and eye-catching display.

Every year during the Holidays, the many different departments at Samuel participate and compete in creating a canstruction.  The final displays were then judged by Samuel’s steering committee team, and it was voted that our Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls team had won the challenge!

The Samuel team as a whole donated over 2,100 cans for the Food Bank of the Rockies! Each and every canstruction design was excellent, as there were displays of Elf the Movie, The Grinch, Super Mario Bros, Christmas Trees, Piggy Banks, and more (to view all of the displays, go to Samuel’s Instagram page).

Samuel Engineering Inc. is not just focused on the impressive structure they’ve created; their ultimate goal is to make a substantial contribution to their local food bank. The canned goods used in the construction will be carefully collected, organized, and donated to provide nourishment to those who need it most. This donation will serve as a testament to the company’s commitment to social responsibility and community welfare.
